Vintage Chanchitos Three Legged Pig Salt & Pepper Shakers Redware Clay Primitive

The Chilean Chanchitos are traditional, small, three-legged terracotta pigs from the village of Pomaire, Chile, believed to bring good luck and fortune. They are typically given as gifts to friends and loved ones as a token of good will.

Each Chanchito is meticulously crafted by local artisans using traditional low-temperature firing techniques with red clay from the mountainside, making each piece unique.

This is a rare set of Chanchitos made as salt and pepper shakers. Please note they no longer have their stoppers.

These would make a unique gift and wonderful conversation piece. They give the rustic, primitive, country, cottage-core vibes for that touch of raw texture in your space. They are rarely seen in salt and pepper form. Each pig has one minor chip; which just adds to their vintage, rustic, chippy glory.
